Easter DIY Ideas

Pesach, Eid, and Easter is upon us and while thoughts turn to religious festival and celebration, hot cross buns and of course chocolate eggs for many of us this time of year represents a time to get out the tools and do some maintenance jobs around the house. So here are some ideas for you to consider when planning your DIY Easter.

Indoors
Starting with the bathroom – there are perhaps some washers and a couple of cracked tiles that need replacing or maybe the time is right to make sure your bathroom window and door seal out the winter draughts.

The best way to find the source of a draught is to hold a candle or lighted match to the suspected area – if it flickers there’s a draught. Fix it now and you’ll thank yourself on those cold winter mornings.

Moving to the kitchen. You could unblock the sink or clean out and defrost the fridge.

Outdoors
With winter approaching, this holiday weekend may be your last chance to spend a decent amount of time in the garden. So don’t waste the last sunny days of Autumn – get out there and get to work.

Now is the time to prune back the roses and get rid of those weeds.
Cleaning and maintaining your gutters is a must at this time of year or all those autumn leaves are going to create havoc over the winter months.

General
Fix those holes in the wall with a little plaster
Give the outside a touch up with a little paint; and seal the woodwork
The list of possibilities goes on and on …

Grab your tools and get to work!

Consider working from the pavement in … the gates, the gutters and windows, etc.
