Whale Watchers!

Not quite the Taj Mahal, this home has views over Gordon’s Bay towards Cape Town over Gordon’s Bay Harbour, Bikini Beach and the coast line past Strand. Dock your yacht and unpack in this low maintenance face brick home.
The house, formerly used as a Guest House, is built against the mountain and spilt in 4 levels. The lower level has the two garages and two (interleading) en-suite bedrooms. The spacious flat above it is self contained with super views and a private entrance. The top level has the huge master bedroom with comanding views and a private balcony. The interleading open plan reception areas, which include the sudy (complete with walk-in safe … ideally suited as a wine cellar), lead to a patio and the secluded swimming pool area.

The property being on the mountain will have a very good veiw of the harbour, but did you know that the General Botha College was also located next to the harbour?
This College trained our merchant and naval sailors for many years with excellant results, unfortunately this facility was closed and re-allocated to Saldanha Bay on the West Coast some 15 or more years ago.
The crest on the hill above Gordons Bay is that of the old college. The college was named after the first training ship that was ancored in the early 1900’s in Simon’s Town, a wooden merchant ship called General Botha – and was used as a training ship until it’s demise.
Radio KFM 94.5 had all of this in a quiz on Nick Marais’s breakfast show this morning. I wonder if they got it from your comment.
